Finns are a nostalgic candy people. At least you can deduce from the results of the Iltalehti reader survey, which remembered as many as 87 different recognizable candy varieties. The tip was clearly distinguished.

Readers of Iltalehti have spoken. What candy are you looking for? -Our survey received a total of 271 responses and 87 different recognizable candy titles were mentioned.

The oldest confectionery memories are located in the 1950s and 60s, the latest in recent seasons. The Finnish picture of the sweet ones has been created from Paavo Nurmi pastilles to Angry Birds. The sample shows that the respondents’ age range extends from today’s children to those born in the 1940s.

1. Pirate grant or markers (33 mention)

Haribo started making the first “markers” in Denmark in 1955. In the 1980s, the product was removed from stores because it was feared to suffocate children. The candy arrived in 2013 with an old recipe back at the request of the public. Since 2016, they have no longer been traded.

2. The coins of Roope Duck (28 mention)

– Chocolate has a memory. My late father bought a rose chocolate bar for me when I was about 6 years old. The paper on the chocolate bar had a beautiful rose picture, recalls Sointu.

– Once I got a rose chocolate bar from my father and hid my treasure under the pillow in the evening. In the morning, when I was going to enjoy the chocolate I got a nasty surprise, Minna says.

Spoiled recipe

There are many types of candy barrels. Many longed for the former seasonal flavors of the current titles in the shops. A few remembered the special flavors of Brunberg kisses, such as banana filling.

Readers called for the “old -time characters” back to the stores. Even teddy bears are not before, a few points of your point.

The alphabet-to-candy strawberry version was very much needed back.

“Nowadays, no longer gets a decent saloon, everything is just something damn circus,” says Hannu.

-The original genuine Salmiakki-Aakkonen because the Finns are Salmiakkita and it was the best straw. The original candy disappeared between the late 2010s until it returned to soft and dilute. Apparently I didn’t get spoiled anymore because after just a moment’s sale disappeared again. Genuine and original was rock hard as it should be, Simo compasses.

In particular, readers need “old good Royal chocolate”.

“It was the best chocolate of all time, and besides, it started in my year of birth in 1961,” says Juha.
