The great scam of ‘Peaky Blinders’

Birmingham: cradle or at least locomotive of the industrial revolution (without going any further, it was there that James Watt found the necessary money to materialize and make a fortune with his steam engine). It makes sense, then, that since the last quarter of the nineteenth century it was one of the British capitals of the first youth gangs. ‘Hooligans’, this breed was called. The Shelby clan of ‘Peaky Blinders’ quite respects the style of clothing and hair of those thugs, although spectacularized to the point of seducing Loquillo, who looks like an extra of the series in the latest promotional photographs of him. And there was a street gang in Birmingham called the Peaky Blinders, though you can be sure they didn’t mess around as much as Tommy and his brothers. From here we leave Birmingham, because the scenes where the Netflix production was shot are in other places.
