The program was once filmed for five seasons. In 2004, the Great Adventure VIP program appeared, in which contestants included, among others Jaajo Linnonmaa.
The series was very popular in the first season. Former producer of the show, Jana Besmondthought that the adventure theme appealed to viewers.
– It was a program for the whole family, which interested men, women and children alike. We received nice feedback that after the program series, many summer cottages built adventure tracks for the youngest members of the family. The Great Adventure was watched every day. At that time, channels in Finland did not yet have streaming services, so the episode had to be watched at the time of the broadcast. There were fewer channels and offerings, especially in the summer, Besmond told Iltalehte in 2019.
