Aid is extended to maritime transport service companies that operate navigation lines of public interest
The Government has extended until December 31, 2023 the fuel bonus for the professional road transport sector. Specific, This discount of 10 cents on diesel will be maintained until September 30while in the fourth quarter the discount will be 5 cents per litre.
For fleets powered by gas compensation of 13 cents is expected until September and 7 euro cents between October and the end of the year, given the special circumstances faced by the price of gas at this stage.
The measure has been included in the Royal Decree-Law approved today by the Council of Ministers to respond to the economic and social consequences of the war in Ukraine, in which other measures have been approved, such as the extension of the VAT reduction on food and aid to public transport.
In total, this package of measures mobilizes an additional 3,800 million euros, although the total impact –taking into account the total aid, with tax cuts and bonuses– is 8,900 million euros in the second part of the year. “In total, the seven packages approved mobilize more than 47,000 million euros in response to the impact of the war”, the first vice president has highlighted.
The Executive of Pedro Sánchez has also announced other measures such as the prohibition of evictions until December 31, although it has eliminated the the extension of rents, something that is already contemplated in the Housing Law.
In the case of companies that benefit from the refund of professional diesel, the aid will be paid at the end of each month of application of the measure, together with the partial refund of the hydrocarbons tax, and will be calculated based on the liters consumed and paid with professional diesel cards.
On the other hand, a direct aid system is established for companies and self-employed workers who do not benefit from the return of professional diesel. Beneficiaries must apply for aid through the electronic headquarters of the State Tax Administration Agency between September 18 and October 31, 2023, which, once approved, will be paid in a single payment. The discount is calculated by estimating consumption, by type of vehicle, in a period of six months: from July 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023.
Aid for maritime transport
The Royal Decree-Law approved today extends for six months the aid for passenger maritime transport services or passenger and ro-ro cargo in regular cabotage line navigations declared of public interest under state jurisdiction and on those inter-island maritime lines
As a consequence of the dissolution of the Cortes Generales due to the electoral advance, the Permanent Deputation, the only body that remains standing, will be the one that assumes the power to validate or repeal the measures that the Government has approved this Tuesday by decree law.
