The Government defends having fulfilled 70% of the budget agreement with the PSC and the Comuns

The PSC and the Commons They have always demanded that the Government, if it wants to agree on the 2024 Catalan budgets, say what it has complied with and what it has not complied with in the 2023 budget agreement. This moment came this Monday when the Generalitat sent the two parties a report on the level of compliance with public accounts. The document, to which you have had access THE NEWSPAPERmaintains that the Government has fully applied 70% of the measures agreed with the PSC and 74% of those who signed with the Comuns. However, both parties consider that the degree of compliance it’s below and they demand a calendar that establishes when what is pending will be settled.

Representatives of the Government met this Monday with a delegation of the PSC at the Palau de la Generalitat. There they defended this figure of 70% of measures completed out of a total of 268, in addition to ensuring that of the remaining 30%, 29% are in the process of compliance, that is, they have begun to be applied, but are not complete. Furthermore, the Generalitat report lists what it considers to be the “relevant milestones” achieved. In the case of the socialists, it is worth highlighting that they created the commission to study the reform of the Airport; the creation of the joint State-Generalitat company for the transfer of Rodalies and the protocol to unblock the Northern Round of the B-40, the section between Terrassa and Sabadell. They are three thorny issues in the relations between the Palau de la Generalitat and Pallars Street.

With the commons, the procedure was the same. Also in a meeting on Monday, the Government maintained that the level of compliance is 74% – four points more than the socialists -, and the measures in the application phase but incomplete are 25%. In this case, the section of the report that includes the main agreements that have been carried out has a lot of weight. taxation. The Catalan executive has promoted, at the request of Jéssica Albiach’s group, at least three tax changes: the tax on port emissions on large ships; a modification of the estate tax and another of the tax on empty homes.
