The government already has to pay 2.7 million euros in fines due to prison overcrowding

The Belgian state currently owes 2.7 million euros in penalty payments to the Order of French-speaking and German-speaking Bars, Avocats.be. That’s what the latter reports. The appeals court forced the government to end the overcrowding at the end of last year. According to the lawyers, no action has been taken since then.
