It is one of the objectives for which the Government has approved this Tuesday to yield to that company the management of the public renewable generation infrastructure. To do this, it will transfer 58.9 million euros to be in charge of locating solar self-consumption facilities on decks and roofs Public Buildings. There will be some 19 million euros this year and more than 39 million in 2024 for this purpose to add 60 megawatts (MW) of power to the 17.6 MW with a total of 120 facilities that the Catalan administration already has in operation, especially in institute roofs.
The goal is that in 2030 all the energy consumed by the Generalitat (administration, not including the public sector as a whole) in the 1,452 available roofs with an installed solar power of 200 to 250 MW comes from that source, explained the director of L’Energètica, Daniel Perez.
A part of the energy generated by this route will be used for vulnerable customers who live a maximum of two kilometers away from where the facilities are located, which is the limit established by state legislation for shared self-consumption. This is a group that already benefits from the member bonusly that this energy will bring you a small part of additional discount
The objective of the Government, in addition to lowering the supply bill for which currently has several suppliers in the sector, is integrate the entire installation of photovoltaic systems into the public renewable generation infrastructure and unify management at L’Energètica.
Unified technical criteria
In addition to the transfer of roofs, the Government agreement provides for establishing some unified technical criteria and some common models of prescriptions to characterize the photovoltaic installations in the area of the Generalitat, of obligatory compliance. The energy company will have the support of Infrastructures of Catalonia for the entire management process. The investment in self-consumption facilities will be carried out through this other public company.
