Goalkeeper Mantas Armalis of the SHL club Leksandi received a shower command against Oskarshamn on Tuesday.
Armalis hit Oskarshamn’s Finnish striker Olli Palola with his flipper hand. Palola shoved Armalis from the equipment, after which Armalis hit Palola directly in the face from behind his own defender. The puck was already on the other side when Armalis hit Palola.
The video published by Aftonbladet shows how Palola fell to the surface of the ice as a result of the impact. Palola tried to get up from the ice on his own, but he didn’t succeed.
He finally had to be coaxed off the ice. Palola had leveled the match at 2–2 just moments before. Oskarshamn eventually lost the match 2–3.

Oskarshamn’s doctor Sadegh Dolatabadi according to Palola was conscious in the dressing room.

Palola is playing his first season in Oskarshamn. He has cooled off in 37 regular season games with power points of 9+3=12.
