The German government offers little hope for a quick agreement on the ban on combustion engine cars

In a few interviews, the German Transport Minister Volker Wissing on Thursday suppressed the hope of quickly reaching an agreement on the ban on cars with combustion engines in Europe. “Banning technology has never helped our country move forward,” he says in the newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine. The ongoing German opposition to the European agreement to ban the sale of cars with a combustion engine from 2035 is also stirring up emotions at the European top.
