The meeting ended with a brief visit to the monastic enclosure, which is expected to house the permanent collection of Carmen Thyssen’s 19th and 20th century Catalan painting collection. At the moment it has not transpired which works will make up that permanent collection. The Monastery of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, of the Benedictine order, has more than a thousand years of history and has Romanesque and Gothic elements.

Sant Feliu de Guíxols already has the Espai Carmen Thyssen since 2012, dedicated to temporary exhibitions of pieces from the Baroness’s collection.
