As promised, The Gaslight Anthem will be touring this year. The band has now officially announced this.
After announcing a hiatus in 2015, The Gaslight Anthem had only since reunited in 2018 for a short tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their album THE ’59 SOUND. A few days ago, singer Brian Fallon surprisingly announced the band’s reunion.
He posted a picture of the group on Instagram and wrote: “Hi everyone, Brian here. I hate to disappoint you, but I have to tell you that there will be no 10th Anniversary Handwritten Tour, nor will there be a documentary… However, I’m very happy to announce to everyone that The Gaslight Anthem is returning as a full-time band . We will be announcing many tour dates in the next few days. We also start writing new songs for our sixth LP. We are very much looking forward to the future and to seeing you again. We want to thank you for staying with us. Stay tuned! – Brian, Ben, Alex and Alex.”
Details about the new album have not yet been announced. The current tour is scheduled to start in August with dates in Europe and will continue in North America from mid-September. In Germany, The Gaslight Anthem want to play concerts in Berlin, Cologne, Munich and Bremen. The band will also appear at the Open Flair Festival in Eschwege and at the Rocco del Schlacko in Püttlingen.
Tickets for the tour can be purchased from March 29 with the password tga2022 here be acquired. On April 1st the regular pre-sale starts.
The Gaslight Anthem from New Jersey have developed into the most important representatives of melodic punk rock since their debut SINK OR SWIM in 2007. They count Bruce Springsteen as one of their biggest influences. Before the announcement of the break, their fifth studio album GET HURT was released.
