The iPhone 15 Pro would not be as innovative as the current ones
Apple supply chain expert Ming-Chi Kuo says so
The future iPhone 15 Pro could replace the physical volume and power buttons solid buttons and haptic feedback. That is, they will be buttons that will not physically react to us like the current ones, but will always be fixed but will react the same. At least that’s what the Chinese analyst Min-Chi Kuo says and collects Engadget. It would become something very similar to current MacBook trackpads.
For this, it will be necessary to insert more “haptic motors” inside the phone so that it reacts as it should to our orders. In this way, they would have to be inserted in the left and right areas of the terminal, something that Kuo explains in a Twitter thread.
“Due to this design change, the haptic motors will change to three,” explained Ming-Chi Kuo. A change that could also reach the Apple Watch to increase its resistance to water, but it seems that the situation is not especially simple because they finally did not carry it out.

My latest survey indicates that the volume button and power button of two high-end iPhone 15/2H23 new iPhone models may adopt a solid-state button design (similar to the home button design of iPhone 7/8/SE2 & 3) to replace the physical/mechanical button design.— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) October 28, 2022
Kuo claims that the buttonless design and the switch to USB-C will be the two main changes in the next iPhone Prowhich will not innovate as much as those of version 14.
