Duchess Meghan’s The episode of the podcast series Archetypes was released again on Spotify.
There was a four-week hiatus in the release of the series due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The royal family spent four weeks of mourning.
In the now-released episode, the Duchess addresses the stereotypes often associated with Asian women. The topics of the episode are covered by a reporter Lisa Ling and a comedian Margaret Cho.
Meghan says in the podcast that she visited a Korean spa with her mother when she was young. In the spa, women of all ages walked around naked, waiting for their turn to wash. The duchess herself hoped to get a bathing suit on.
She also says that she only realized the mystification and archetypal thinking of Asian women in the last few years.
– This kind of thinking has seeped into the entertainment industry. But this toxic way of thinking about women of Asian background does not end up in the final texts, says the duchess.
According to Meghan, stigma and preconceived notions about Asians are deeply embedded in Western thinking and breaking them requires public discussion.
