Gary Pallister, Manchester United defender in the 1990s, assures that the Dutchman would fit in perfectly
He wields four arguments for which he hopes his transfer to the ‘red devils’ will materialize
Manchester United is excited about Frenkie de Jong. And one of his legends, Gary Pallistar, fanned the flame and used four arguments for which he is convinced that the Barça player would triumph as a ‘red devil’, although the midfielder insists that he is “at the best club in the world”.
Gary Pallister started and finished his professional career at Middlesbrough, but where he spent the most years was at Manchester United. He spent nine years of his career, from 1989 to 1998, at Old Trafford and endeared himself to everyone with his lanky 1.93m figure. He now works as a sports commentator and gave his opinion on the possibility of Frenkie de Jong’s arrival in ‘Metro’.
The arguments
In his opinion, Frenkie de Jong would fit in perfectly at United. “We hope that the deal can be closed,” he wished.
One reason is that “he’s the right age.” On May 12, Arkel’s turned 25 years old.
But even though he may still be considered young, Frenkie “has a lot of experience,” Pallister recalled. He has exceeded 300 games at the highest levelhas become a key piece of the ‘oranje’ and at Barça he has completed his third season with everything that entails.
Gary Pallister also said in his opinion that De Jong “is the kind of player who can really express himself in a place like United.” He believes that at Old Trafford he would have more freedom of movement and to show his football, since at Barça he would be more tied to a system and the demands of positional play.
And finally, he stressed that the Dutchman “is used to the pressure and the center of attention after having been in Barcelona, so he would certainly comply.”
