According to the NACE Association (Association No to School Harassment), only 15% of children who suffer bullying confess it to their relatives, which is why its detection is so important. With the rule of the 4 Cs it will be easier for us to detect cases of bullying (the last one is specifically indicated for teachers).

Changes

Now things happen that never happened before: Drop in grades, change in sleep rhythms (difficulty sleeping, insomnia) or eating (sometimes they fall into anorexia or bulimia), frequent loss or deterioration of school material, change of itinerary to go to school, lack of interest in going out or socializing, loss or change of friends, signs on the body (bruises, scratches…) or on clothes (unstitched, missing buttons, loss of clothes…), irritability or bad mood at home (protest, no one can stand it…), apparently unjustified crying…

Bells

“Make bells” is “playing jerks”, “playing hooky”, not wanting to go to school, namely, absenteeism. The harassed minor presents the syndrome of “Sunday afternoon & rdquor; (headache or stomachache, nausea…), which is nothing more than the somatization of anguish and fear. The intensity of these symptoms is usually proportional to the intensity and duration of the abuse; and it becomes a clear indicator of the seriousness of the bullying that they are suffering.

Body

The body does not lie. The boy shrinks, looks at the ground, wants to pass unnoticedI know scares easily before any gesture, he loses the joy and the shine in his eyes… You can also submit self harm (cuts on legs and arms, which they try to hide with long sleeves).

Customs

If he arrives last to class or leaves first, it is so as not to coincide with his aggressors. If he asks to go to the bathroom outside of patio time, it is because he has not wanted to coincide with them in that place where they lock them up, wet them, lower their pants… If he doesn’t want to go out on the board it’s because he feels vulnerable before them (they make fun of his way of expressing himself, because of the clothes he wears…). If he frequently approaches the teacher, with any excuse, it is because he seeks his protection. Understand the scenic language gives us important clues to know what is happening.
