Secret lives – an actor known for his role in the series Aamu Henna Tanskanen40, and his spouse Lauri Tanskanen43, talk about the ups and downs of their relationship in Apu magazine.

One of the biggest turning points in the couple’s relationship was in 2016, when Lauri was diagnosed with colon cancer. The situation was so critical that the first surgery was hastily arranged for the very next week.

– The cancer came completely out of the blue and was, of course, a terrible shock. The doctor’s original prognosis was grim, but here we are seven years later, Lauri states in the magazine.

In the last couple of years, Lauri has been able to take more than half of the year on medical leave. The couple has lived with the disease for so long that it has become a part of their ever-changing and unpredictable lives. In addition, the disease has taught them to concentrate their gaze on the present moment and to understand the temporary nature of life.

– The disease still hasn’t refined us. Yes, we can still be petty and we can argue, Henna points out.

– Cancer doesn’t make anyone a saint, but it does give perspective, Lauri adds.

The couple has two children: Lilac9, and Wind7. The married couple will act in the future Siblingstwins in the movie. The film’s story is colored by major turning points in Ari’s personal life, such as Henna’s pregnancy and Lauri’s cancer diagnosis.

Director-writer of the film Sarah Cantell described the actors’ work in the film’s announcement in May.

– The actors have deepened their roles in a unique way, made possible by the long filming time. This has created fascinating dimensions to the film that could not have been planned in advance. As a director, I feel privileged to have been part of this working group, making such a film, Cantell said.
