The Jokers start their Mestis time in the hottest place. It is hardly a coincidence that the Mestis season 2023–2024 starts with the meeting of the two most talked about teams, Kiekko-Espo and Helsinki Jokeri. The reigning champion will host the new team from Helsinki at the Metro Arena on Thursday. The sale of tickets for the event has been wild. At the beginning of August, 4,000 tickets were sold in just over three hours. In the end, all the tickets were sold. At the same time, a new spectator record will be set at the Mestis opening, as the Metro arena can accommodate around 6,950 pairs of eyes.
