The former Ancona Turchi, suffering from ALS, beaten during a youth match

Attacked with punches and kicks during an Under 17 football match, and to aggravate the situation there is the fact that the victim, the former Ancona football player Stefano Turchi, is sick with ALS. It happened on Sunday in Albano Sant’Alessandro, in the province of Bergamo, during the match between Brusaporto and Sarnico, the two teams leading the standings on equal points.

Turchi, who is in charge of Brusaporto’s youth academy, is in a wheelchair due to his illness, but follows matches standing clinging to the net that surrounds the pitch. At the end of the first half a player from Sarnico felt ill and asked for a substitution. The father reached the area where Turchi was and began to yell at the home players. When Turchi tried to calm him down, he was attacked and thrown to the ground, then kicked and punched.

Turchi was taken to the emergency room of the Seriate hospital and a CT scan revealed a head trauma.
