The flexible housing project costs Coevorden more than €700,000

The municipality wants to allocate more than €700,000 to prepare for the construction of new flexible housing in Coevorden. According to the municipality, the money is needed, among other things, to prepare the site where the houses will be built and to install the houses.

This is reported by the mayor and aldermen of Coevorden. The municipality does not pay for the purchase, construction and management of the houses themselves; that part is borne by housing association Domesta.

Earlier this year, the municipality, together with Domesta, released the plan for the flexible housing. This concerns thirty homes of different sizes, in the Coevorder Binnenvree district. The houses will be located on a currently vacant lot on the corner of Drostenstraat/Burgemeester Feithsingel. There used to be a school on this site.

The intention is for the homes to be delivered at the end of next year, although that process still depends on any objections from the neighborhood. The project consists of two building blocks: one with 18 homes and one with 12 homes. In the spring, the municipality will start preparing the site for construction, after which the houses will be placed.
