The fleeting return of Marcos Peña

Among the militancy, in the Parque Norte bunker, on Sunday the 13th of the PASO, NEWS spotted Marcos Peñathe former chief of staff of Mauricio Macri that ran from the media and leadership focus after the defeat in 2019. The former official had not appeared for a long time and yet that night he again approached the red circle of the PRO.

From that moment on, a question was raised in Together for Change. What was the once super powerful official doing there? Many were struck by how freely he entered and left the VIP room where the leaders were waiting for the result of the PASO. “He came as a militant. He never stopped being one, ”explains a PRO source. And he adds: “He had no roles in this campaignneither communication nor political advice”.

He was, that Sunday night, with old friends. He was seen smiling next to the person in charge of Macri’s communication, Gustavo Gomez Repettoand then listening to the winning speeches of Patricia Bullrich and Jorge Macri.

The former chief of staff, accused on many occasions as one of the most responsible for the failure of the Macrista administration, decided to run away from politics. “It was a strong wear. I had to get inside. That led me to various therapeutic processes, to publish a paper where I raised the need to look at that human part of leadership”, he explained this year in a podcast on leading leadership.

In fact, on his Twitter account, which has almost 800,000 followers, he barely takes care of promoting that podcast he named project 77. But there are no political interactions, he doesn’t even “like” any message. It is only an account that spreads who each of the guests who go through their program are.

This Sunday the 13th he met again with many of the leaders with whom he shared management. It was a reconnection with politics, after four years, but no one guarantees that he will go back into the mud, from which he decided to get out a long time ago.
