Irish singer Johnny Logan’s Michael-brother has died at the age of 71. Logan shared the sad news on his own Facebook page. The inscription shows that brother Michael died surrounded by his children.

The brothers were very close, as Michael worked as Logan’s guitarist.

– There is a hole in our hearts now that will never heal. I wish I could say more, but right now my words are not enough, Logan writes on Facebook.

Johnny Logan has won Eurovision twice during his career. His first win came off What’s Another Year – song in 1980. For the second time, Europe crowned a man as the winner Hold Me Now – song in 1987. Five years later, a song written by Logan Why Me? picked up a five-point win again for Ireland.

The Irish singer has performed several times in Finland. Logan told Iltalehte in June 2021 that he has noticed one special feature in the Finnish audience.

– Finns relax when they notice that an artist can laugh at himself. Performing for Finns is like getting to know each other, first you introduce yourself and finally I end up telling my bad jokes, the winner of the competition commented.

This is how Käärijä commented on his ranking after the five-point final.
