Christian Horner was released from Red Bull after months of tension. But as it turns out, it wasn’t the only bad news.

Shortly before his separation from Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner had to cope with a difficult private stroke: As the “Daily Mail” reports, his former partner Beverley died after a long illness at the age of 58. She succumbed to a cancer in her house in the Cotswolds-just ten days before Horner lost his position as team boss at the Formula 1 team.

Beverley Allen was not only the mother of Horner’s daughter, but also his close companion for many years. The couple lived together for more than 14 years. Even after the separation, both maintained a friendly relationship. According to the report, Horner is said to have even raised her two sons at times.

The cancer diagnosis came two years ago – with a sobering forecast. Nevertheless, the news about her death hit many in their environment unexpectedly. A friend is quoted by the “Daily Mail” with the words: Beverley was “a wonderful woman”. Although she knew that her time was limited, her death was still a “shocking loss”.

The separation between Horner and all of them took place in 2014 – her daughter was only half a year old at the time. Shortly afterwards, Horner began a relationship with the former Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell. The couple already married in 2015. According to media reports, Horner’s parents of the wedding stayed away – they are said to have continued to maintain a close relationship with Beverley and the granddaughter.

Despite the separation, the relationship between Horner and all in recent years had been described as “harmonious”. The time of her death was particularly difficult for Horner: just a few days later, after months of internal tensions, he was released from Red Bull. He had already been accused of inappropriate behavior towards an employee about a year and a half ago. Horner always denied the allegations – two examinations finally relieved him. But the unrest in the team remained.

An insider said the “Daily Mail”: “This is a double blow for Christian. He not only lost his job, but also an old friend – and his daughter her mother.”
