The first picture of Queen Elizabeth’s grave has been released

Her husband Prince Philip also rests in the same grave.

Queen Elizabeth’s funeral was held on Monday, September 19. The funeral day ended with a private ceremony at the court, where the queen was laid to rest in the St. George Memorial Chapel.

Elizabeth’s parents also rest in the same grave. His father Yrjö VI died in 1952 and his mother Elizabeth in 2002. Prince Philip was the last person to be buried in the memorial chapel when he died in April of last year at the age of 99.

Buckingham Palace released the first image of the grave.

Queen Elizabeth’s name is engraved in brass grooves alongside the names of her mother, father and husband on the memorial stone. The memorial stone is made of Belgian marble.

In the picture, the last resting place is bordered with several flower wreaths and arrangements.

From next week, members of the public will be able to see the new memorial stone and burial site as Windsor Castle reopens to the public. The castle has been closed due to Elizabeth’s passing.

Elisabet’s funeral was followed on the spot in London by huge crowds, but also around the world via social media and various live broadcasts.

According to TMZ magazine, around 27 million people watched the funeral in Britain. In the United States, the corresponding figure was approximately 11.4 million.

Queen Elizabeth’s death was also a big expense for the British economy. The British Ministry of Culture previously estimated that the national period of mourning costs the state more than 2.6 billion euros. The British government has not said how much the funeral expenses have been.
