A photobook is the piece that summarizes the entirety of a photographic projectan edition that allows us to learn about both the ideas and talent of a photographer by giving us a deep and comprehensive overview of their work.
Between May 28 and 31, ArtexArte carries out the first edition of an international photobook meeting. The name of the event is SUR ARTEXARTE and it brings together artists, curators and editors in a varied program that includes workshops, talks and exhibitions. The objective is to expand contact between the various sectors that come together in the creation of photobooks and also link emerging artists with long-established photographers.
In addition, during those days the publications selected for the Sur ArtexArte Photobooks Awardwhich is awarded for the first time, with 25 finalists selected by a jury composed of Juan Manuel Fiuza, Mateo Barbuzzi and Musuk Nolte. The distinction is awarded on May 30.
A second contest is the Sur ArtexArte Models Awarddedicated to Argentine artists, whose reward is the publication of the project.
The event opens on May 28 at 6 p.m. at the ArtexArte headquarters (Lavalleja 1062). The rest of the days the hours open to the public extend between 2 and 8 p.m. Admission is free.
