After the end of the season the club wanted to celebrate 32 years in Serie A and a positive year. Pozzo: “We would like to return to Europe, and we will make all the sacrifices necessary to do so”
Udinese is celebrating. And there are many reasons to smile at a beautiful season, which ended with the much desired tenth place. But first of all the birthday of the paron Giampaolo Pozzo who turned 85. And he was honored by everyone: team, staff, employees.

Pozzo, excited and happy, thanked and in an interview with TV 12, which follows the club on a daily basis, placed the emphasis above all on Udinese’s 32 years in a row in Serie A. “I have so much affection for all the members of this club. Playing football at these levels for so many years is not easy and it is thanks to all the employees, managers and collaborators that we have reached 32 years of Serie A. From 32 years to today, how many teams have passed through Serie A and how many sono rimaste? Se si wants to go to Europe, plans change and it’s a difficult goal to achieve on one’s own strength.”

But today was also an important day for another reason: Udinese and their manager of the technical area Gokhan Inler are moving forward together. The former midfielder and now fundamental right-hand man of Kosta Runjaic has renewed his contract for another two years, until 2028. Inler brought some fundamental innovations: the training sessions open to the public and the inclusive evenings to create an even more important relationship within the group between the players were the pearls of a year in which Udinese truly seemed like a team. “I am enthusiastic about the extension – said Inler – I would like to thank the owners and the management with whom we have undertaken this journey which sees us sharing the desire to achieve increasingly important goals. Udinese is a historic club, with a strong identity that deserves to be on important stages. We want to continue to keep the whole environment compact as has happened in these two years and build a team that continues to interpret these values to obtain sporting results in line with our history and ambition”. General manager Franco Collavino praised his commitment: “We already knew and appreciated him as a footballer and as a person but, in these two years, Inler has demonstrated ability and a modern approach in managing the technical area”.
