The first day of the Flow festival started – there was a hitch in the arrangements

The sold-out Flow festival started today. Visitors were tormented at the beginning of the event by long queues, running out of tickets and broken wristbands.

Today, the three-day Flow’ festivals started in Suvilahti. The event did not start completely smoothly, as the long queues and ticket sales caused irritation.

Tickets for the Friday and Saturday days of the festival were sold out early on. Several festival-goers feverishly tried to get a ticket for Friday, i.e. the starting day. The joy was sparked by the update of the festival this morning, when a hundred tickets were promised for sale at the gates.

– We are selling a limited batch of one hundred and one day tickets today, Friday at the gates of Flow Festival in Suvilahti at 15:00, event announced on Facebook.

According to a visitor queuing at the venue, those who wanted tickets were surprised that they could buy six additional tickets at a time. That’s why there weren’t enough of them for everyone who came to line up and the event quickly sold out.

– After all, we only sell one of these per customer. The line is long. I wouldn’t want to queue for nothing, one hopeful visitor commented on Facebook before learning about the practice.

On the other hand, ticketed visitors were disappointed that the wristbands for the event did not work as expected: some broke or got stuck at the gates. The adjustment with wristbands caused long lines at the event site when they were handed out and exchanged.

On Twitter, a visitor posted a picture in which he described the situation.

– After a two-year hiatus, this festival gets a little bumpy when you have to stand in line for wristbands for too long. I’ve never seen such a queue and I’ve already had time to move on here for a long time. In other words, advice to others: go to Lasipalatsi or Hakaniemi to change your wristbands.

Another visitor also posted on Twitter about the queues and the broken wristband policy.

– 2h queue to pick up wristbands. Nice costs 115e for one day and half of the artists are already gone, he sums up.

The difficulties with the wristbands and queues are so far the only disturbances that have come to Iltalehti’s attention. The event has not commented on the long queues or problems with wristbands on its website. The pages promise a fun and wonderful festival evening.

The artists of the evening have started according to the schedule and there is a good atmosphere on the spot.
