The first convertible club for women: “It makes us stronger and more independent”

Recently Miranda Nanda Maria van Dijk from Oosthuizen has a convertible. “I always drove sporty cars but this is great. Hair in the wind, nature and go.” And she now wants to share that experience with other women and that is why she founded a convertible club. For women only. The first. “After all those centuries of male power, we may also have our turn.”

Today is International Women’s Day, but for Miranda it has been every day for twenty-five years. “I do everything to make women stronger. That they take control themselves. Believe in themselves and develop themselves. I give advice and training for this.” And she develops all kinds of activities, such as a convertible club and a billiards club for women with balls. “Every week we play billiards in Volendam.”

Freedom

With the convertible club, Miranda plans to run a tour every month from May to October. Somewhere in the Netherlands. The first is scheduled for May 13 and an introductory drink in Wijk aan Zee on April 8. “It should not become too massive and not super commercial because you have to be able to give each other attention.” She thinks of no more than a woman or 30. “Enjoying the freedom and being in nature. Sniffing, smelling, you name it. You can do that in a convertible.”
