The case of Barrio 31 is a milestone in the process of cultural change in Trasa, because it was the first place where one of the 23 ATMs was installed in popular neighborhoods. This ATM was established in 2018, in the Pago24 service center that had been operating since 2017. During this time the neighborhood has been transformed; since the streets had no name, to this day where the people who live in the neighborhood are proud to have an address and know that they have an ATM that operates 24×7 at Carlos Perette 456.
In addition to facilitating access to cash, the ATM improved the dynamics of the local economy. Today the residents of Barrio 31 not only save time and transportation costs, but also extract and use the money in nearby businesses, benefiting the merchants and their families.
Building a new economy where success and financial benefits incorporate social and environmental well-being is the objective of Sistema B, an entity that certifies companies throughout the world, adapting its business model to one of triple impact. Trasa obtained its certification as a B company in 2021 after many years of work for the financial inclusion in various parts of the country through the services it offers to the community.
The Pago24 ATM network reaches more than 55,500 families in poor neighborhoods (figure from the National Registry of Popular Neighborhoods) and is currently working to expand that impact through the first social SME Negotiable Obligation of a B company for an amount of $30 million .
Ricky Minicucci, founder of Trasa, affirmed: Five or six years ago we decided to walk through Barrio 31, we found a place, we installed a 7×24 ATM on the sidewalk; We have been there for five years, it has never been vandalized. Before, people would walk 30 minutes or take public transportation to go find money in Retiro or Barrio Norte and buy merchandise in those neighborhoods. Once installed, people began to circulate through the ATM, they began to withdraw money from the ATM and consume in the local business, the nearby business. This made an impact on us and pushed us to develop this in various neighborhoods to support our purpose of bringing financial inclusion to all people.
