The first 100 US Army personnel arrived in Romania. They are quartering the main American forces. This was stated by the country’s Minister of National Defense Vasile Dincu, according to local radio. The head of the department added that the rest of the US Army units should arrive soon.
Earlier, US Department of Defense spokesman John Kirby said that in total, about a thousand American soldiers and officers would be deployed in Romania.
On February 6, it became known that in the coming days transferred to Poland about 1.7 thousand soldiers of the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States. They will be located in the southeast of the country.
The very next day, the first group of American paratroopers landed at the Rzeszow airport. It is led by divisional commander Christopher Donahue.
