Mustafe Muuse felt that he had disappointed his mentor.

Finnish 5,000 meter runner Mustafe Muuse flopped badly at the under-23 European Championships in Espoo.
Muuse was last to last in the race in 18th place. The time of 14:33.68 was no less than 42 seconds worse than the record he ran this year.
Muuse, who has a Somali background, has received support from a well-known organization in his career. He is part of running legend Mo Farah’s training group, and describes the four-time Olympic champion as his mentor.
The cooperation of a couple of years reached a kind of climax, when the Finn stepped to the starting line of the prestigious championships in front of the home crowd.
– We called with Mo there a few days ago. We talked about these things, about the upcoming games, Muuse said.
The tips didn’t help. The end result was a disaster.
– Maybe I won’t call for a few days. Embarrassing so much.
Wrong book choice
Muuse is a diligent reader, and during the Games he tried to get his mind off athletics by delving deeper Lea Ypin to the book Free.
In retrospect, that wasn’t a good idea either.
– The book tells about Albania in the past. I’ve been reading it and trying to live in it this week. It wouldn’t have been worth it. I probably should have read something more positive. It just made me feel bad.
Muuse suspected that the poor running performance could also be due to too much high-altitude camping.
– I have been very high, so the iron values have suddenly dropped very much. To this day, I still haven’t figured out what caused it, but let’s try to find out properly, Muuse said.
– I have felt that now there has been a slight lag compared to last year. I haven’t wanted to think about it or figure it out any more. However, some good workouts have come in between, so I’ve tried to live by them.
According to Muuse, there is now a serious place for discussion.
– It may be that this season will be put into the package now.
– Complete bullshit. It’s a damn shame it turned out like this.
