Tomi Salesvuon East Funk Attack has released new music. The tour, which was postponed due to the corona pandemic, will finally be launched.

In addition to Salesvuo, the band is composed of a singer familiar from The Voice of Finland, Taru Ratilainen. In addition, the band will play Ukko Heinonen, Ilmari Aitoaho, Matias Kiiveri and Heikki Laine.

East Funk Attack, who released their third studio album a year ago, had to postpone their record release tour due to a corona pandemic. Now, however, the band is touring all over Europe.

The now released track Funk That War dates back a long time, albeit in connection with the Ukrainian war. It tells of a plane crash by Malaysian Airlines when a tourist plane was shot down in the airspace of eastern Ukraine in the summer of 2014.

– The disaster, which claimed the lives of all the passengers and the crew of the plane, affected me especially because I have flown the same scheduled flight twice on the same scheduled flight, Salesvuo says.

The plane, which was destroyed because of the war, was full of innocent civilians, many of whom were on their way to resorts.

– The melody of the song and the riff of the chorus sound so strong in my head that it woke me up in an emotional turmoil in the middle of a night full of sleep to write a song, he continues.

The song is still relevant, with Russia attacking Ukraine more widely.

– Ukraine is currently being bombed and destroyed – the biggest victims are innocent civilians and children. Funk That War respects the victims of the accident and hopes for peace in the world, Salesvuo adds.

Finally on tour

The music video for the song was recorded a long time ago at a live show at the time of the corona lock. The mixed version has been ready for release since last fall.

– There was not the slightest idea of the current state of the world, Salesvuo updates.

The band will leave for the upcoming European tour in a confused mood.

– We were full of hope, eagerly awaiting our two-year tour of Germany. Now, the album’s release tour is finally playing in ten German cities.

Now the awareness of the situation in Germany is pondering.

– A huge number of war refugees have entered the crowd recovering from Korona and there is confusion everywhere. We try to take hope and joy with the power of music, even for a moment, Salesvuo says.
