Political slogans and graffiti on house facades are everyday life in Berlin. But such a clear rejection of the Greens in the middle of a Green stronghold is a rarity.
In Kreuzberg’s Graefekiez there is increasing resistance to plans to unseal parking spaces and create flower beds there or set up so-called street furniture. There have been protests from residents and businesses for months, now the spray-painted slogans.
There is no question: this is property damage and the insulting tone is not a form of reasonable discussion. It is also not clear who the perpetrators are. But the emotional debate in the neighborhood shows:
