The fight against cancer has nothing to do with stripping

For these endearing Christmas dates, Telecinco has invented a four-episode program titled ‘Desnudos por la vida’. The presenter told us, Jesus Vazquez that six women and six men, all famous, were going to make us “a complete nude” to raise awareness in the fight against cancer. I wonder what cancer has to do with stripping.

That’s as if in this successful ‘Marató’ that TV3 has just broadcast, dedicated to sexual and reproductive health, they had brought out Xavi Coral, Toni Cruanyes and Ramon Pellicer with his sexual tool at the ready, prancing and choreographing completely naked. I am sure that the creatures captured by Telecinco have agreed to undress, convinced that they were doing it for a good purpose. I liked it Pablo Carbonell, showing his body drilled by life, with that scar that hides the metal bar that had to be inserted along the entire length of his spine. She has merit, and a lot of generosity, I bare it. “I like my body because I don’t have another one,” he said with exemplary stoicism. I also liked the actress and model Marisa Jara, showing the route of his scar, from the sternum to the abdomen. Or the humor of Anabel Pantoja, posing and exclaiming: “This is me and this is my ‘pantoculo’!” Do not look here, in this column, for even a reproach towards these creatures.

Something else was what the chain was looking for, always so deceitful in everything it does. Telecinco knows that the product it manufactures is not characterized by solidarity programs or awareness exercises for a good purpose. That is why they ‘warmed up’ the final feminine apotheosis with previous sessions of ‘artistic photos’, that is, the ladies photographed in full nude, as in those distant and suggestive pages of ‘Interviú’.

The analysis of the audience of these four programs is very significant. The first two, dedicated to the male nude, the screen share was in decline. They lost 3.1 points and 190,000 viewers. The second two, dedicated to the female nude, recovered all the lost screen share and also added 209,000 viewers. I have nothing to object to nudes. This is how we all come to this world. The mean thing is to call ‘oncological prevention’ what is just a typical striptease ‘show’.
