The Fenoglio method: the plot of the last episode
After Vito Lopez’s confession, Fenoglio (Alessio Boni), the officer Antonio Pellecchia (Paolo Sassanelli) and the PM Gemma D’Angelo (Giulia Vecchio) are one step away from the truth about the case involving little Damiano. The team discovered that the father is not Nicola Grimaldi, now a fugitive, but Vito himself. For this reason the criminal decided to collaborate with the Carabinieri.
Pietro and Tonino they follow the trail of the so-called “flash kidnappings”. Meanwhile, Manzari, the number one suspect, is arrested after finding him in his house Damiano’s backpack. However, the man attempts suicide in prison and leaves a note: «I’m innocent, but no one cares». What if someone else was implicated in the case? If there was the underlying hand of someone from the police force? It is not a lead to exclude, especially when Tonino confesses a secret to Pietro: a drug affair that dates back many years.
Tonino’s secret and friendship with Pietro Fenoglio
The resolution of the little boy’s case Damiano is getting closer and closer and it is linked to a past event that involved him Tonino and other colleagues from the force. The officer tells Pietro what happened many years before, when he worked in the anti-drug department. “Bad things happened and we messed up,” confesses the colleague to his friend Pietro. But what does Damiano’s death have to do with that old story? There is someone in the force who wants to make money with flash kidnappings. Who? Tonino, Pietro, PM Gemma investigate. A Carabiniere on the very day of Damiano’s kidnapping was off duty for health reasons.

The memory of the death of Paolo Borsellino
Gemma also continues to investigate the case of her brother Filippo, died of an overdose. She is convinced that something is not right. Why was the case closed so quickly? The PM, with the help of Fenoglio, discovers that Nicola Grimaldi has a bank in Montenegro and that is inside the board of directors the name of Marco Lo Russo’s father, Filippo’s dear friend who seems to have strong feelings for Gemma.

There will be a second season of The Fenoglio method?
After the rapprochement at the end of the last episode the relationship between Pietro and Serena Morandi (Giulia Bevilacqua) it doesn’t go cold. The teacher decides to move to Pesaro for his high school exams and to stay there even after the oral tests because he needs a change of scenery. «I need to be alone» Serena says to Fenioglio. How will she end up between the two? Is their love story at an end or is there still hope? Many questions remain unanswered in this first season finale. We are sure that Rai is already thinking about a second series.
