On July 11, the Democracy and Development cycle organized by Grupo Clarín took place. The event had as its axis the economic discussion and they were summoned economists from different fields, some ex-ministers of Economy and other well-known consultants and historians.
But the conversations of the guests were not only limited to what was discussed but also about the look of one of the exhibitors who had not visited those meetings for a long time: he is the economist Daniel Artanachief economist at FIEL, who, despite being known in the red circle, is often heard by many in radio interviews or read his articles, but rarely seen.
The frivolous side and attention to aesthetics is also part of the life of economic scientists. Not everything is theory, numbers and statistics. Artana was seen with a little more hair than a year ago, but this was not a surprise for those who follow their analyzes carefully, because this gradual change has been taking place for several months now.
Another renowned economist who had an aesthetic touch was Martin Redrado, who went through the presentation of Channel E on May 31 and was seen with a slightly swollen face, but over the days the swelling went down. Aesthetics is a matter that Redrado takes great care of, who carefully chooses the combination of suits, shirts and ties in his public appearances.
These two recent cases are not the only aesthetic changes in the universe of the most renowned economists in the country. Carlos Melconianpresident of IERAL, when he emerged as a regular columnist for the media, had long hair and a bushy mustache that he abandoned almost a decade ago, almost on a par with Mauricio Macri
Another mustache that remained in the past is that of the deputy Ricardo Lopez Murphy, who, according to his own account, allowed his mustache to grow at the wishes of his mother. In an interview with La Caja Negra, he said that the day she died, both he and her brother decided to shave him forever.
One of the youngest stars in the universe of media economists is Emmanuel Alvarez Agis, who had a stint in the public service as Áxel Kicillof’s Deputy Minister of Economy during the last presidency of Cristina Kirchner. In those years, Álvarez Agis shaved his head to accompany hair loss, but after leaving public service he decided to start a treatment that changed his look and now he even combs some gray hair.
Hernan Lechter, Cristina Kirchner’s favorite economist, had a past with long hair parted in the middle that lasted only a brief season after his public exposure. When he launched himself as an economic consultant, he decided to do a restyling and went with short hair parted on the side.
Aesthetics is not only the heritage of industries such as fashion, art or sports, as can be seen, image is also important among economists.
