The farmer Pàmies once again circumvents the veto of ‘bleach therapy’

Despite the serious warning from Salut and the Lleida College of Physicians not to call the event, more than a hundred people came to Balaguer this afternoon to listen to a talk by the farmer. Josep Pàmies in which he has once again blessed a product called MMSa dangerous derivative of bleach that has been banned by the Spanish Medicines Agency since 2010.

MMS, sodium chlorite (Miracle Mineral Solution), is a scam that charlatans use to seduce desperate people with serious health problems. It is a toxic compound used in the manufacture of paper and water disinfection. Contradicting all scientific evidence and assuming the role of (false) liberator, Pàmies assures that MMS “serves to cure autism.” According to him, the liquid eliminates autism and any other illness. Science affirms that autism has no cure, among other things, because it is not a disease (it is a disorder).

This week the Department of Health had sent an order suspending the farmers’ conference, titled with a lie: ‘Autism is recoverable’. The Mossos d’Esquadra have set up a checkpoint at the access roundabout to the property, reports the ACN agency. The ‘counsellor’ Manel Balcells He had also issued serious warnings about the fraud of bleach to treat diseases. “These things endanger the lives and health of people,” he said after calling the farmer a “phony” and “swindler”.

Sanctioned

In 2018, the Generalitat imposed a fine (another one) of 600,000 euros on Pàmies, founder of the association known as Dulce Revolución, also fined 120,001 euros for promoting pseudotherapies.

Pàmies has justified the scheduling of the conference, which has been broadcast online, because “treatments against autism are not advancing.” Known for imagining a Catalonia in which (misnamed) natural therapies predominate and sodium chlorite comes out of the tap, the farmer has once again released the mantra that many children have been cured around the world, a statement that is against of all scientific evidence.

scammed people

MMS is a product that does not cause any improvement in the state of health. Rather, the opposite. EL PERIÓDICO already told a long time ago about the struggle of a father who fell into this trap for his son, who suffers from autism. Between the bleach derivative and other food supplements, he spent about 600 euros a month for half a year “for nothing.” Other families fall into the same or similar deception, such as the recommendation made by shamans on duty to put drops of urine in the ears of children with autism.

Pàmies, who also defends that vaccines are made with DNA from aborted fetuses, has alleged “freedom of expression and assembly” to hold his conference and has said that he will “assume the consequences.”

In 2019, angina pectoris took the farmer to the hospital, where he was treated by doctors and not charlatans. He thanked the help received in the emergency room and praised the doctors, but insisted that current medicine “abuses chemical pharmacology.” The same pharmacology that saved him from a heart attack.
