In yesterday’s World Cup opening game between Qatar and Ecuador, a video of an Ecuadorian fan verbally clashing with a Qatari spectator in the middle of the game went viral on social media.
One fan in a yellow shirt was in the middle of the Qatari crowd at the match. In the video, he had stood up in the stands, raising his hands in the air. The Qatari in the back row was clearly furious about this. He pointed furiously at an Ecuador fan and appeared to shout back at him.
The Ecuador fan and his family looked scared and started to calm the situation down. The spectators around also wanted to calm the parties down.

Although the match itself was a celebration for Ecuador with a 2-0 victory, the story of two football fans ended happily in the end. A video filmed by a Qatari man ended up on social media, where he reconciled his differences with the Ecuadorian.
