Basketball star Brittney Griner was arrested in Russia in February. He is allegedly caught in possession of drugs.
The WNBA top, who won two Olympic golds in the U.S. national team, represents Phoenix Mercury in North America and plays in the Euroleague in Yekaterinburg, Russia, between seasons.
The Griner family in the United States is concerned. The family has not heard of Griner since his arrest, CNN reports now.
Griner’s wife Cherelle wrote an inconsolable update on Instagram.
– Our hearts leave punches in between. I miss your voice and your presence. The pain is huge, there are no words for this, CNN writes his wife said.
There is currently no exact information on Griner’s whereabouts. The family would like him back in the United States, as Griner’s safety is feared to be threatened.
