The Salatut elämät series will see a returning actress in the coming weeks, when Karin Ekholm, played by Inga Sulini, will visit Pihlajakatu. The character is the mother of Markus Ekholm, who died of a drug overdose, and the Elderly lady who sought marriage with Aki Nikkinen.
Sulin’s character brings with him a completely new character to Salkkarei, i.e Aida Fanfanin performed by Erika Ekholm. This is the sister of Henrik Ekholm, who has been in the series for longer.

Sulin has visited the series a few times over the years. When Markus Ekholm was still in the series, Sulin was a more active member of the cast. The character was about to marry Aki Nikkinen, until it dawned on Nikkinen that he is Markus Ekholm’s half-brother and Karin Ekholm’s late husband’s stepchild.
The last time Suli was seen in the series was in 2021, when he brought Henrik Ekholm to Pihlajakatu to care for his cousin Aki.
