ddedicated to one of the most representative names of Italian pop art, the exhibition Mario Schifano: the new imaginary. 1960-1990 presents about fifty works that summarize the artist’s work and research.

From monochrome paintings, to signs, to Italian landscapes. The large-format works to which Schifano devoted himself from the 70s to the 90s complete the itinerary.

A telegram from the past

Antinori Art Project celebrates the entry of a new acquisition into the permanent collection of contemporary art which, since 2012, has found space in the family cellar in the Chianti Classico area, a futuristic project with low environmental impact by the architect Marco Casamonti.

After Yona Friedman, Tomàs Saraceno, Stefano Arienti and Sam Falls it’s up to Elisabetta Benassi signing The Maiden of the West. A hand-knotted carpet that recounts a moment in Antinori’s story by reproducing the telegram (the family keeps the original) which Puccini sent to the Marquis Piero in 1910 to recount the success of the opera’s premiere at the Metropolitan in New York under the direction of Toscanini.

Night effect

A place full of charm, history and mythology hosts the appointments between art, cinema and music by Night effect 2023. Concerts at sunset, between classical and pop, precede the screening of films on the outdoor screen.

The films – including Sweet dreams, The night of San Lorenzo, Annoying love, The postman – are part of a tribute to the famous editor Roberto Perpignani. There are also guided tours of the archaeological complex.

Between poetry and visions

Readers of limes they know the artist-cartographer Laura Channelsauthor of the covers of the magazine. Geopoems it is his solo exhibition with 13 large-scale works, printed with a particular digital process on scratched aluminum plates.

The inspiration comes from the verses of Calvino, Ungaretti, Sereni “set” in real landscapes such as those of Liguria and filtered by the artist’s visual emotions.

Altitude festivals

Pygmies at 1815 meters above sea level? A concert aimed at an audience of dogs and their human friends? They are only 2 of the events of the XIV edition of CHAMOISicthe festival of “other music at high altitude” directed by the Turin trumpeter Giorgio Li Calzi.

On the bill, shows by international artists, original productions and Italian premieres: the concerts have free admission, spread across 7 Municipalities and Organizations of the Valle d’Aosta. The festival continues until August 14th, but the highlight is 3 full immersion days in the Chamois Alpine Pearl: on July 21st, 22nd and 23rd.

The theme of this edition is “LIVING”, to witness some aspects of life that resists the anthropic dominance, of life that is not only linked to the notoriously more evolved animal species. Just to underline the importance of music as an art form capable of connecting through a shared emotional experience, an event aimed at an audience of dogs, accompanied by their human companions, was conceived.

The program wants to place itself, as per tradition, outside any commercial logicconfirming the link with contemporary, experimental, electronic, improvised, traditional music and persevering in bringing together different musical languages.
