Moscow State University scientists conducted a mathematical study of the development of the coronavirus pandemic and came to the conclusion that in the future the disease is likely to be mild, said university rector Viktor Sadovnichy. A foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the first president of Kyrgyzstan, Askar Akaev, participated in the study.
“Academician Askar Akayev and I wrote an article-forecast. We, as mathematicians, foresaw both these surges and mutations. The virus is a living family, it is fighting for its life and will try to adapt. On the other hand, he needs a person to live, and a compromise will be found, ”Sadovnichy said at a press conference (quote from TASS).
According to the rector, according to the forecast, “a compromise will be found” and in the future COVID-19 will descend to an acceptable level: either the disease will proceed in a very mild form, or there will be a small number of cases. Scientists hope that this will happen in early 2023, Sadovnichy said.
On the preparation at Moscow State University of a model that calculates the forecast for the spread of infection, Sadovnichy told last week in an interview with OTR. The scientist emphasized at the same time that “a mathematical model is not life” and “there may be turns in different mutations.” However, he surethat this forecast will come true, since “usually our models with Askar Akayevich have always been accurate, they predicted crises with their help, and they coincided.”
The fugitive first president of Kyrgyzstan was brought to investigators in Bishkek
