The ‘ex-minister’ Giró will present a complaint on Monday in Madrid for the Catalonia operation

The acceptance by an investigative court in Madrid of the complaint filed by the former president of Barça Sandro Rosell for the ‘Catalonia operation headed by former Commissioner José Manuel Villarejo It has triggered political leaders and businessmen to make a move and study the possibility of taking similar legal actions. One of them is the ‘ex-minister’ Jaume Girò. His lawyer Jordi Pina is finalizing the lawsuit that he is expected to present next Monday in the courts of the Spanish capital, after the prosecution did not pursue the complaint that he had filed for the same reason in June last.

This complaint was directed against the former commissioner and the former leader of the Catalan PP Alicia Sánchez-Camacho as a result of the audios published about ‘Operation Catalonia’ in which the policy asks the police to investigate Giró, who then directed the La Caixa Foundation. He attributed to them the crimes of revealing a secret by a public official, embezzlement (presumably money and public personnel were used) and criminal organization (they consider that there was a “concert” of various political officials and police commanders). The Barcelona Prosecutor’s Office forwarded the complaint to the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office, as a consequence of the appraisal of Sánchez-Camacho, who is a senator for Madrid. Given the lack of response and endorsed by the judicial reaction in the case of Sandro Rosell, the ‘ex-minister’ has decided to present the complaint in court.

This waterfall will not end here. Former President Artur Mas He has already commissioned the filing of a complaint, which will possibly be finalized next week, according to the sources consulted by EL PERIÓDICO. Other people who appear in Villarejo’s notebooks are considering doing the same. Among them is the former deputy Oriol Pujol Ferrusola and the businessman Carles Vilarrubí, former vice president of FC Barcelona and closely linked to the Pujol family. It is not ruled out that this list will be expanded in the future.

However, the complaints will end up in different courts because, from the outset, they can be considered individual facts. If two fall in the same judicial body and the proceedings that would be opened in the event that they admit would be different. That is what has happened up to now. Rosell’s complaint has gone to the trial court number 13 in Madrid and has been admitted; that of the BPA bank, in instruction 9, and that of the former head of the National Police Corps (CNP) in Catalonia, Narciso Ortega Oliva, in instruction 37. This list has been joined this week by the lawsuit by the Sumarroca family, although it is still It has not been distributed in any court. All these cases have gone through different judicial instances, from the prosecutor’s office to the National High Court, to end up in the ordinary courts of Madrid.

In other words, the admission to processing of Rosell’s complaint, built on the basis of an investigation by EL PERIÓDICO, has opened the door to new criminal actions by other people who appear in Villarejo’s agendas or recordings, although each of the courts and independently will be the one who will decide what to do. It is not ruled out that in the future, some of the parties involved in the proceedings try to bring together in a single cause the different accusations of the ‘Operation Catalonia’, a maneuver promoted by the “patriotic police” whose purpose would be the independence world.
