Noriko Salo has been in a new relationship for over a year. The happy woman tells Iltalehte what kind of relationship she has with her ex-husband Mika Salo.

Noriko Salo, 52, rarely appears in public. However, he agreed to give an interview to Iltalehte at the opening ceremony of the summer season of The Palm terrace bar and revealed his privacy.
Former F1 driver Mika Salon, 56, discovers from his ex-wife that she is a happy woman. Salo says that he has been in a new relationship for over a year. A Japanese woman met her boyfriend through a mutual friend.
– We are doing very well. I am so happy, Salo says.
She doesn’t want to reveal more about her lover, because it’s a private person. Sen Salo says that his dating partner also has children.
– I’m not hiding anything, but I try to keep a low profile. He is my love. Everyone around us is happy that we are together, Salo says.
The woman plans to spend Midsummer together with her boyfriend. The couple is going to Salo’s friend’s summer cottage near Lappeenranta to enjoy Midsummer.

Goodbye Mika
Noriko Salo divorced Mika Salo in May 2022. Before this, they had been living together for more than two years. The couple got married in 1999, so the union was long. In the last years of the marriage, rumors of divorce swirled several times. After the breakup news, Mika Salo commented in his public Facebook update that the couple had already broken up “years ago” and there was no drama in the matter.
Noriko now says that she and Mika have a good relationship.
– Our relationship is good and always has been. That’s what happened, and we’re still friends. I am also friends with his fiancé, Salo says.

Mika Salo works as an expert in Viaplay’s formula broadcasts. Her work also takes her out into the world, so Noriko doesn’t see her ex-spouse very often.
– Mika travels a lot and sometimes lives abroad. We used to be a family, so in a way we will always be a family – now just in a different form, says Noriko Salo.

Two children, 21 years old, were born to Saloj’s union Max and 19 years old Mai. Max has followed in his father’s footsteps as a racing driver, and Mai is a cheerleading high school student. Noriko Salo says that the grown-up children are doing well. Mai still lives with her mother.
– She is a cheerleader and she was in the world championships. He trains really hard, says the proud mother.
Noriko Salo enjoys her life and tinkering with many things. He started writing a blog in February and talks about his everyday life, traveling, and sometimes love. He wants to tell about his life on his own terms, after being silent for so long. He still doesn’t want to mess around in the magazines.
Salo also maintains an online store selling Japanese products and works as the ex-wife of former NHL player Esa Tikkanen Help Backman at the gala organized in the fall. In the summer, he enjoys Finland’s beautiful waterways and swimming. Recently, he enjoyed swimming in the Sompasauna in Verkkosaari, Helsinki. Cold water does not scare Salo, who has also enjoyed winter swimming.
– It is good for health, such as blood circulation.
