The League of Kings is here. The Kings League is born, a real soccer competition in which 12 of the biggest Spanish-speaking streamers in the world will preside over the participating teams that will compete each week until they reach the exciting playoff. Only then will the fight for a single throne be decided, to go down in the history of this new competition. From January 2023, Barcelona will host all the matches open to the public, and they can be followed online through the channels of the streamers that face each day and through the official channels of the Kings League.
The format of the competition is as follows: every Sunday a day will be played up to a total of 11, with the six consecutive games in the afternoon. These are short 7-a-side football matches where fun and spectacle will be enhanced. After the regular phase, the top teams in the table will contest an emotional playoff that will crown the king of the Kings League.
The objective of the project is to give a new dimension to the world of football, more agile, participatory, and with a more immersive and complete experience. To do this, the rules of the matches will always seek that extra point of emotion for the beautiful game. Everything will be accompanied by extensive audiovisual coverage, with cameras in every corner of the match, from the tension in the dressing rooms in the previous moments to recordings that collect the best plays from all angles, post-match interviews, raffles…
“We wanted to make a football project, but different from what we are used to. That people participate in this league, that they see the locker rooms, how the coaches talk to the players…” Gerard Piqué said during the presentation of the project, president of the Kings League. “We will make it very accessible, with different competition rules than what we have in our heads when we think of football. We can be flexible and adapt to what people want. It has been incredible that the 12 characters from the world of streaming and football who We wanted to invite them to say yes and they are eager to start the project. They all look very good and we are looking forward to the start of the competition”.
These will be the ‘Kings’ of the competition, the presidents of each of the teams that will participate with their shield, kit and proper name:
David Cánovas from Murcia has 10.3 million followers on Twitch and 17.7 on YouTube. He has been streaming for more than 10 years, he is one of the streamers with the most followers in the world and he is a great football fan, but he does not reveal which team he loves.
Ibai, creator of the Balloon World Cup and co-founder of KOI together with Piqué, has 11 million followers on Twitch, 2 billion views on YouTube and is among the “most influential Spaniards in the world” according to Forbes magazine. A confessed Madridista, he will now manage his own team.
Spursito is crazy about football, FC Barcelona and FIFA, a streamer who was part of Mambo FC, a team of youtubers. He now he will have to preside over his club.

Colombian Juan Guarnizo is the most followed Latin American streamer on Twitch, creator on KOI and with 9.3 million followers on Twitch and almost 5 million on YouTube.
Aguero has grown as a streamer in record time to 4.1 million followers on Twitch. Argentine soccer player of the highest level, with 500 goals in his career and his career at Atlético, Barça or Manchester City, it is his turn for the presidency.

In the case of soccer players, 200 will initially be selected who will soon participate in physical and skill tests to finally choose the 120 that will make up the 12 participating teams. That is where another of the key points of the league comes in: The presidents of the teams will select in turn the 10 players on their squad through a draft, similar to the one held in the NBA with the great promises of basketball. In addition, two invitations are reserved for two players per day: a friend, an actor, an ex-soccer player… The figure of the coach will not be missing, who will direct his team from the bench.
