The EU Council decided to ban air travel and impose sanctions against the Central Bank

The European Union has banned operations related to the management of reserves and assets of the Central Bank of Russia. About it says in a paper published in the EU Journal.

As stated in the document, the restrictions also apply to any legal entities acting on behalf of or at the direction of the Russian Central Bank.

As an exception, transactions with the Bank of Russia may be authorized if they are necessary to ensure the financial stability of the European Union as a whole or its member states. An EU member state that decides to grant permission for any transaction with the Russian Central Bank must immediately inform its EU partners of its intention.

In addition, since Monday, February 28, the European Union has completely closed its airspace to Russia. Landing, taking off or flying over its territory is prohibited for any aircraft operated by Russian air carriers, “any aircraft registered in Russia, or any aircraft not registered in Russia, owned or chartered or otherwise controlled by any Russian natural or legal person, organization or body”.
