The energy ceiling is a good solution | Statement of the Day

After the first joy about the energy ceiling, there are now also critical notes to be heard. The government spends a lot of money to keep the gas bill low, but it does not change the high rates. Are you happy with the energy ceiling? Respond to the Statement of the Day.

The Consumers’ Association finds the elaboration of the cabinet plan inadequate. The idea behind the energy ceiling is to bring the price level back to early 2022, before the war in Ukraine pushed prices even higher.

The union states that with the scheme we will soon pay 1.50 euros for a cubic meter of gas, which is 0.75 cents less than the average price for gas in January 2022. A rate of 0.70 cents per kWh applies to electricity. is just 0.17 cents above the January price.

Meanwhile, energy suppliers have significantly increased their rates from October. Some people will soon pay twice as much for gas. The government is compensating for that, but that means a lot of money goes to the companies.
