the director of Civil Protection of the Generalitat, Marta Cassany, has asked the General Directorate of Civil Protection of the Ministry of the Interior to find a solution as soon as possible to “the serious deficiencies” that it considers that the emergency alert system with mobile notifications has, since they are the creators and administrators of the tool.
This was explained in a statement, after Tarragona, Terres de l’Ebre and Penedès (Tarragona) and the survey data that have carried out 5,000 people show there has been “serious deficiencies in the reception of the message”.
After showing its concern, Civil Protection has transferred this situation, which it considers “serious”, to their counterparts in the Ministry of the Interior when verifying that the State is competent to regulate the telecommunications market.
Catalonia is the only territory of the State that has decided to carry out massive tests to be able to test the system and has also created a survey to find out if the tests work correctly.
