French citizens who are on the territory of Ukraine are advised to stock up on food and essentials, but there is no need to urgently leave the country yet. This was stated by the French Ambassador to Ukraine Etienne de Ponsin, his appeal published on the embassy website.
“We recommend that you prepare <...> supplies of water, food and warm clothes, and also make sure that the tank of your car is full <...>. But at this stage (Sunday, February 13, afternoon) we do not give a general recommendation to the French living in Ukraine to leave the country,” the appeal says.
More than 30 countries recommended their citizens to leave Ukraine
He advised French citizens to remain vigilant and advised them to keep personal papers at the ready.
Against the background of the escalation of the situation around Ukraine, more than 30 countries strongly recommended their citizens to leave this country. In particular, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States did so. In addition, some countries decided to evacuate their diplomats from the territory of Ukraine.
