The Dutch national team has concluded the qualifying series for next year’s European Football Championship with a big victory. The Dutch team was much too strong in Faro (0-6) for the still scoreless Gibraltar.
Calvin Stengs opened the scoring in the 10th minute, after which Mats Wieffer doubled the lead halfway through the first half with his head. Both Feyenoord players have never scored for the Netherlands before. Teun Koopmeiners was also accurate before half time.
In the early stages of the second half, Stengs scored his second goal and scored again in the 62nd minute. Substitute Cody Gakpo determined the final score. Defender Jorrel Hato and attacker Thijs Dallinga made their debut after the break for the Dutch team, which had already qualified for the European Championship on Saturday thanks to a 1-0 win over Ireland.
The draw for the European Championship, which starts on June 14 in Germany, will be on Saturday, December 2 in Hamburg.
