The Dutch Rijksmuseum receives the smallest portraits of Rembrandt on long-term loan

The Rijksmuseum is receiving the two smallest portraits that Rembrandt ever painted on long-term loan, De Telegraaf reports. The Holterman family (VolkerWessels) bought the two oval masterpieces, which had remained unknown until this summer, on July 6 this year at an auction at Christie’s in London for 13 million euros. On Wednesday they will have a permanent place in the hall.
